2007 50th Reunion Celebration

2007 was the rebirth of the 50th Reunion celebrations across campus. Over 200 alumni and guests came back to campus to reconnect with old friends, experience the Michigan of today and share their Michigan stories. It was a weekend that offered great experiences for our graduates of 1957 and allowed them to relive their Michigan days.

Much has changed in the 50 years since they graduated.  Students are allowed to have cars on campus, women can walk through the front doors of the Union and campus has expanded and grown by leaps and bounds. The attendees of the 2007 50th Reunion were able to see these changes and experience some familiarities, such as football Saturday.

The 50th Reunion events included a variety of college/school specific activities from lunches and dinners with their respective Deans, the Go Blue tailgate and football game against Purdue.  The weekend was capped off with the prestigious 50th Reunion Gala Dinner.  The dinner featured presentations by Provost Teresa Sullivan, Vice President of Development Jerry May and President of the Alumni Association Steve Grafton.  Those in attendance were inducted into the Emeritus Society and received their Emeritus pin.  After this ceremony many stayed for a night of dancing with current Michigan Ballroom Dance students.

The 50th Reunion is an opportunity to congratulate and celebrate our Michigan alumni.  We look forward to celebrating many more classes to come
